LEAD TIMES. All artwork is made to order using local print and frame shops. Because we rely on curated quality over quantity and personally handle the sales process with the utmost care, we choose to not offer a quick ship program. FRAMING. We choose to white frame all artwork under museum glass and four ply white mat. We consider this a modern yet neutral approach in which the finishing process does little to distract from the true product. To reduce the chances to damage, we choose not to offer loose prints.
PRINTING. Noble Wolf Studio proudly works with Parker Stewart Studio (Savannah GA) for all of its photo printing needs. We use acid- and lignin-free Hahnemühle papers to provide a stable base that resists yellowing or degradation over time. We also use pigment-based and UV-resistant Epson archival inks (such as the UltraChrome HDX or K3 ink sets) which are designed for long durability. Independent testing by organizations like Wilhelm Imaging Research and Aardenburg Imaging indicates that this combination can yield prints last hundreds of years before fading. Each print is titled, signed, and numbered. A matching certificate of authenticity is provided as additional provenance. Our print sizes currently range from 11 to 50 inches.
EDITIONS. All photographs are produced in a limited edition of 25 regardless of size unless marked unique or smaller to increase rarity and value. You can pay more to decrease the edition size for exclusivity or expand it depending on your project’s scale. Please note that prior client sales may negate this option! We hold our reputation and integrity to extraordinarily high standards.
OPTIMAL HANGING CONDITIONS. An artwork’s actual lifespan depends significantly on environmental and display conditions. While we use permanent UV sprays on the photographs themselves and place them behind UV-blocking museum glass to minimize exposure, direct or high exposure to light remains the primary cause of fading. The best place to hang artwork to avoid UV exposure and humidity is on an interior wall in a temperature-controlled, dark, or dimly lit room away from direct sunlight. North-facing walls are ideal as they receive minimal, indirect sunlight. Please also avoid airborne contaminants like cooking fumes or cigarette smoke can also degrade prints over time. Please also avoid heat sources like radiators, heaters, air vents, fireplaces, or in rooms with high humidity like bathrooms or kitchens. Maintaining a consistent environment with stable climate control is ideal. Use spacers or ensure there is air circulation behind the frame to prevent mold and moisture buildup. Artwork generally is hung at eye level with the center of the piece roughly 58 inches from the floor. Keep a minimum of a 4 inch gap from other frames and at least 8 inches above furniture. Use indirect, warm lighting to highlight the image.
LIGHTING. Quality lightning can make the difference between a piece of art being overlooked or commanding attention. Soft, targeted lighting brings out detail and tonal transitions that may otherwise be lost to the viewer. The best lighting enhances the artwork without distracting from the rest of your room. Spotlights mounted from a ceiling facing downward offer an easy and adjustable solution for illuminating art. Ceiling mounted lighting should be placed at a 30-degree angle, directed at the center of the artwork and should provide a soft even spread of light, illuminating the majority of the print without distracting hot spots or unbalanced coverage. Track lighting can be beneficial for those who have multiple pieces of art across a room or for those who enjoy moving or changing out their artwork seasonally or as their decor changes. It is important to take preservation into account when illuminating most types of artwork in order to avoid fading and color shifts over time. Avoid direct sunlight, direct facing lighting sources, and fluorescent lighting to these ends. Ideally, the best fine art photography lighting is cool-running, small, light LEDs that allow for easy, flexible installation while also being budget friendly.
